Stereo Typing people

We categorize people around us as "WASPs, Married American man, Revolting Teenager, Chicks, Eligible bachelor, DINKs, Desi professional, Desi house wife, Mexican immigrant ...". Though this is an easy way human mind deals with complexity of relationships and works most of the times to make quick decisions, I wonder if that is the right way. When you meet a new face and you immediately bucketize the individual into one of the stereo types, your interactions with the individual might be marred with prejudice. If you are a very active person and meet a sedentary individual, you tend to disregard this person inconsequential. But this sedentary individual might have certain other interests and skills that might actually help you. Even if you are following the Greedy philosophy of self help, you might actually tend to lose by not furthering interaction with this individual. Though the past predicts a lot about how the person will act in the future, you should give each person a chance to present himself before you judge him and at the same time you need to retest an individual with glowing trackrecord as people always change. In reality there are billions and billions of people in the world and if you are trying to meet like minded people who will help you succeed in whatever you choose to achieve in life there are only so many finite number of people that you can meet. If you do not stereo type them and have a complete unprejudiced interaction with every body you meet, you are likely to run out of time!!
